Arrest/detention/charges: Arrest/detention at protest/demonstration
Journalists Viktoriya Avdeeva from Simbirsk.city and Igor Ulitin from Narodnaya Gazeta were arrested when they were planning to report from an anti-war demonstration in Ul’yanvosk. Maksim Kuznetsov, a freelancer for local media 73 Online, was also arrested. Police said the journalists were seen as illegal activists because they were not recognizable as journalists. A local court started to investigate the protocol of their arrest.
