On 6 March 2023, Russian occupying forces entered Troitske, a city in Northern Luhansk region, said Viktoriya Kaydash, a journalist working for website Silski Novyny (“Village News”) as well as for Troitske.City, a local newspaper and online media. In a later interview with Ukrainian media, Kaydash said Russian troops looted Troitske.City’s office, taking away all computers and other appliances. She said continuing to work as a journalist in the city was impossible, as there was no access to printing houses and internet was cut off at the start of the occupation.
