On 15 July 2022, Russian internet regulator and censor Roskomnadzor blocked access to MOST, an independent news website focused on Kherson Oblast, a region occupied by Russian forces since early March. According to MOST editor Serhiy Nikitenko, Roskomnadzor blocked the website based on a decision made by the Russian Prosecutor General on July 15. The exact motives behind the restriction were not mentioned in the decision. Nikitenko said that MOST noticed a drop in traffic on the website after it was blocked by Russia, as readers located in Kherson Oblast are now connected to the internet through Russian servers.
