On 12 May 2023, the Russian internet freedom group Roskomsvoboda informed that Russia’s internet censor Roskomnadzor had blocked access to Prodolzheniye Sleduyet (“To Be Continued”), a news project created by Pavel Kanygin and other former journalists from Novaya Gazeta, a Russian independent media outlet.  While Roskomnadzor did not specify the reason for the block, Prodolzheniye Sleduyet is known for regularly publishing articles critical of the Russian government, including related to Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine.

In April, the Russian Ministry of Justice had already designated Pavel Kanygin as a “foreign agent”.
