Radio Svoboda correspondent suffers concussion after Russian shelling

Radio Svoboda correspondent Marian Kushnir was injured during an alleged Russian attack on Ukrainian forces, while the journalist was embedded with the Ukrainian troops. The attack happened in the settlement of Baryshivka located 35 km from the capital, at around 3am. Kushnir told Radio Svoboda: “They hit a location where I was near the stadium that was used for training. Soldiers were staying there and some of them were wounded… Some people were injured, and I know for sure that no one was killed.” He received medical care assistance in hospital and said in a video published on RFE/RL that he was safe. He suffered concussion, acoustic barotrauma and a problem with the left ear. Marian Kushnir has been working for Radio Liberty since 2015.
