Belarusian photographer arrested for covering event for children of Ukrainian refugees

Belarusian local photographer Sergey Lysenko was arrested alongside the organizer of an event in support of the children of Ukrainian refugees in Gomel, Alla Korolenko. The photographer who covered the event was sentenced to 15 days in prison on unspecified charges. The event which occurred on June 27 was broken up by the police. However, the following day Lysenko received a call from the local police asking him to come to the station. He had previously been investigated for covering the 2020 anti-government protests in Gomel.
