On February 27, journalists Sydney Mubaiwa of Mirror and Stephen Chadenga of NewsDay were barred from reporting on the Minister of Midlands and State and Devolution Affairs, Owen Ncube.  According to a report by local media watchdog MISA, the minister identified these two journalists during a gender commission meeting and prohibited them from attending future government events. Consequently, security personnel expelled them from the venue.
