A recently created veteran association filed a complaint with police against Iryna Fedoriv, a Ukrainian journalist and Editor-in-Chief of Chesno, an online media promoting transparency in government, for a critical article she wrote about MPs from “Servant of the People”, the political party of president Volodymyr Zelenskiy.
In its complaint, the “Defenders of Bucha District” association accused Fedoriv of “incitement to hatred” and “orienting citizens” against “the government, soldiers, volunteers and activists” for a blog post she published in October. In the post, Fedoriv claimed that three politicians of the ruling “Servant of the People” party had handed one another medals for alleged participation in the defense of Ukraine, which according to her does not correspond to the reality of their actions.
The Editor-in-Chief of Chesno said she was interrogated by police in December as part of an investigation into the complaint made against her.
