Hungarian journalists barred from interviewing medical professionals during COVID-19

Numerous Hungarian media outlets published an open letter accusing the government on of putting lives at risk by barring the media from reporting on the full extent of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the letter, published by most of the country’s independent news titles, the journalists complained that they had been routinely and systematically blocked from hospitals and barred from interviewing medical professionals about the surge in the virus and its toll on the country’s health service.
