Four media workers arrested in Moscow ahead of event in support of Russia military

Four journalists and media workers were detained by police ahead of a major event in Moscow in support of the Russian military. SOTA journalists Pavel Ivanov was arrested shortly after he left his house at 10am. He was charged with disobedience to a police officer (Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) because he allegedly did not show documents to the security forces. He was taken to the Chernomushkinsky District Court, where he was sentenced to three days of administrative arrest. Later that afternoon, another SOTA journalist, Artem Krieger was detained by police at the Sportivnaya metro station. He had been on his way to report from the stadium in Luzhniki, where an event was being held to celebrate the “annexation of Crimea”. Krieger was taken to the Khamovniki police station. SOTA photojournalist Ruslan Terekhov was also detained as he tried to enter the event and taken to the Bibirevo police department. The editor-in-chief of the RusNews portal, Sergey Aybinder, was also detained near the Luzhniki sports complex.
