Dutch journalist reportedly targeted by Russian FPV drone, escapes unharmed

On 28 October 2025, Dutch journalist Daphne Wesdorpe came under fire from a Russian FPV (first-person view) drone, in the town of Kostiantynivka in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region. Ukraine’s 24th Separate Mechanised Brigade said that their press officer Oleh Petrasiuk, who was accompanying Wesdorpe, was able to intercept and destroy the Russian drone. The drone reportedly attempted to attack the Dutch journalist while she was filming at the ruins of the Holy Dormition Cathedral in Kostiantynivka. Petrasiuk, recognising the threat, used his service rifle to bring down the device and then assisted the journalist to relocate away from the target zone under guidance
