Court in Sakhalin fines newspaper Visit for discrediting the Russian armed forces

A court in Kholmsk fined the newspaper “Visit” 150,000 rubles for “discrediting” the Russian armed forces via its reporting on the war in Ukraine. The editor of the article in question was additionally charged 50,000 rubles. The charges were related to the outlet republishing an article written by the leader of the opposition party Yabloko, Grigory Yavlinsky. In the article, the leader of the party called for the end of the war in Ukraine. According to RFE/RL, the publication risks bankruptcy due to the fines.
