On February 4, 2024, authorities in Senegal permanently withdrew the broadcasting license of Walf TV, a privately owned television that was critical of the government amid public protests against the postponement of the elections. However, on February 11, following overwhelming condemnation, the authorities rescinded their decision and allowed the media outlet to resume broadcasting of its programs. Between 2021 and 2023, the media regulatory suspended the broadcasting activities of the media outlet three times.
