Access to the news website of independent newspaper Meduza was restricted by Russia’s country’s internet and media regulator, Roskomnadzor. The access block came on the order of the Prosecutor General’s office, which claimed that Meduza “disseminated information in violation of the law.” Meduza said in a statement: “Many Internet users in Russia are currently unable to access Meduza’s website. Our newsroom was first informed of this by our readers on the evening of Thursday, March 3.” Meduza is a Russian and English-language independent news website based in Latvia.
