Hamza Al-Hajj Hassan, a correspondent for Lebanon’s Al-Manar television, along with cameraman Mohamed Muntich and technician Halim Alouh, were killed April 14 while on assignment in Al-Maaloula, near the capital Damascus. News reports said that their car was sprayed with gunfire by unknown assailants. The Syrian government condemned the killings, according to a report by the official SANA news agency.
