Journalist Musa Abdul Kareem was reportedly abducted on July 31, 2018, in Sabha. He was found dead later that day, with marks of gunshots and torturing in his body. The identitites of the assailants remain unknown. Abdul Kareem had reportedly received threats before his abduction and killing.
