A discussion with Preethi Nallu, Global Director at Report for the World on how local reporters, from Brazil to India, are building communities within their countries and across continents, as they report on the most critical issues of our time.
Nallu interviewed five newsrooms that they support whose reporters cover a number of issues — climate change, migration, corruption, Indigenous rights and more.
In one case, InfoAmazonia in Brazil, their members have been covering stories about campaign funding from environmental offenders during Brazil’s recent election — important issues for voters to know before voting.
The audience of Concet Migrante in Mexico is primarily female migrants and covers with a cross-border lens, and being part of Report for the World means they will be able to have more, better stories to help women during the migration process.
