On October 24, 2022, the body of radio commentator Garry Tess was found in the southern Haitian city of Les Cayes. He had been missing since October 18. A lawyer and a political analyst, Tess was also a host of the popular radio program “Gran Lakou” on private broadcaster Radio Lébon FM in Les Cayes. The following day, the Government Commissioner at the Civil Court of Les Cayes announced that the public prosecutor’s office and local police had opened an investigation into Tess’s death and had questioned several people in connection to the case.
