TV and radio stations in Moscow and Sverdlovsk region hacked, broadcast air raid alert

On 9 March 2023, an unspecified number of radio and television stations in Moscow and Sverdlovsk region broadcast a false air raid alert, instructing viewers to immediately go to the closest bomb shelter. A siren was also heard in the background of the alert. In a statement, the Russian Ministry of Emergencies  confirmed the event, saying that the radio and television channels in question had their “servers hacked”, and that the information broadcast was false.
