On 19 July 2023, TSN correspondent Yuliya Kiriyenko said she received a mild concussion while reporting from the front line in Ukraine’s Donetsk region, according to a publication by the journalist on Facebook. The correspondent for TSN, the flagship news program of Ukraine’s private 1+1 TV channel, was filming a report about a Russian offensive toward the cities of Kupiansk and Lyman when the shelling occurred. She said she received the concussion after a shot was fired by a Russian tank or howitzer. In her Facebook post, Kiriyenko also published a photo from a nearby military medical facility, where she was taken after the incident, saying that she had been connected to oxygen and was feeling better.
