On 20 September 2024, the office of Ukraine’s public broadcaster Suspilne in Dnipro was damaged in a Russian strike, the broadcaster said in a statement published on September 25. According to Suspilne, the damage was the result of a Russian attack on a nearby educational institution. According to Kateryna Lysyuk, acting manager of the regional branch of Suspilne in Dnipro, the main entrance door of the office was damaged, while the windows on the second floor of the main building, as well as those in the former radio building, were also broken. None of the employees of Suspilne Dnipro were injured, Lysyuk said: at the time of the shelling, one person was inside, but they managed to hide in a safe place.
Suspilne reported that investigators of the police department of the Soborniy District of Dnipro opened criminal proceedings under Article 110, Part 3 (“Infringement on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine”) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine following the shelling. The investigation department of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) of Dnipropetrovsk region is also involved in the investigation.
