On 2 February 2026, a film crew from the Dnipro branch of Ukraine’s public broadcaster Suspilne came under a Russian drone attack while reporting in the frontline town of Ternivka in Dnipropetrovsk region. The journalists were documenting the aftermath of a Russian strike that had hit a bus carrying miners the previous day.

According to Suspilne correspondent Anton Sirenko, him and camera operator Oleksiy Koreniev were preparing for a live broadcast when they heard gunfire and noticed a drone approaching their position. The drone flew toward the area where the journalists were working, forcing them to take cover. The drone strike occurred roughly 700 metres from the media crew, targeting the same mining infrastructure that was targeted the previous day. No members of the Suspilne team were injured in the incident.
