On April 3, journalist Noel Konan from the investigative news site letau.net was threatened and intimidated by a member of the security forces. This incident occurred when Konan contacted the officer to verify information regarding corruption and forgery in issuing and distributing Ivorian nationality and passports to certain businessmen and corporate executives. Although the incident was reported to the police and denounced by a local press defence organisation, the police have not communicated an intention to initiate an investigation to hold the implicated officer accountable.
