Russian embassy threatens Swiss outlet for publishing caricatures about Russia-Ukraine conflict

The Russian embassy in Switzerland threatened the editor of the outlet Neue Zürcher Zeitung with a criminal complaint to the local authorities in response to an online article the outlet published on June 25 and later printed on July 9. The article in question discussed carricatures and memes in relation to the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces. Among the images the embassy cited in their letter to the outlet’s editor was a caricature of Putin containing LGBTQ+ imagery. as well as a picture glorifying Ukrainian president Zelensky.
