On 14 August 2026, the office of Visti Novovorontsovshchyny, the only newspaper still published in Beryslav district, was damaged in a Russian drone strike on Novovorontsovka, Kherson region, according to the Institute of Mass Information.
Chief editor Iryna Telychko said a large Russian drone exploded just a few metres from the building where the newsroom was located. No staff members were in the office at the time of the blast, and no one was injured.
Telychko said the explosion was extremely powerful and struck the central part of the town. The blast blew out the newsroom’s windows and doors, leaving the premises covered in shattered glass.
Immediately after the attack, the team began salvaging surviving equipment, documents and other items from the office. Telychko said they first removed the most valuable items because of the risk of a repeated strike, and continued evacuating property the following day.
