Censorship and regulation: Publication ban, take-down order or forced deletion, fine, administrative action
On 21 April 2022, the Russian Foreign Ministry published a new list of American citizens banned from entering Russia. 29 people in total were on the list, including three journalists: George Stephanopoulos, an anchor at ABC, David Ignatius, novelist and journalist with the Washington Post, as well as Kevin Rothrock, editor-in-chief of the English-language version of Meduza, Russia’s most popular online independent media. The bans were enforced in apparent link to the journalists’ publications on Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine.
