Restrictions on access to information: Access restricted to officials/press conferences/venues
On October 26, 2023, Zimbabwe’s ruling ZANU PF party denied accreditation to journalists Annahstacia Ndlovu and Kudzanai Musengi of the Voice of America Studio 7 and prevented them from accessing the venue of the party’s annual conference. The conference was set to start on October 27. The duo were only notified after traveling to Gweru, the capital city of the Midlands Province, that they were not on the list of accredited journalists. However, the journalists had reportedly submitted their application for accreditation and received confirmation letters.
