Censorship and regulation: Publication ban, take-down order or forced deletion, fine, administrative action
On 24 December 2022, Russian media regulator Roskomnadzor blocked access to TV Rain’s website in Russia. Russia’s most popular independent TV channel (known in Russian as “Dozhd”) created a new website after its previous version had been blocked by regulators. Roskomnadzor told RBC, a Russian news portal, that Dozhd TV’s new website was blocked due to alleged regular spreading of fake news related to the war in Ukraine.
