Radiotelevisione Italiana (RAI) correspondent Stefania Battistini and camera operators Simone Traini and Mauro Folio were about to connect live to “One Morning” from a hotel balcony in Dnipro, when four Ukrainian special forces agents entered the room with guns pointed and forced them on the ground. The team were detained while the soldiers confirmed their identity. Soon after the police chief arrived at the hotel, and the team was able to explain who they were. They were released shortly after.
