Surveillance/endangering Source Protection: Confiscation of a reporter's or media outlet's equipment, notes, mobile phone
On February 4, 2024 the police arrested and detained two journalists: Sokhna Ndack Mbacke of the online news platform Agora TV and Khadija Ndate of the online news platform ITV of Emedia.The journalists were reporting live on the anti-government protests following the postponement of the presidential elections in Senegal. Their work equipment was also confiscated over an interview with opposition political leaders. Both were later released without charges.
