Yana Yanovskaya, the editor of media outlet Parma-Novosti, was fined 50,000 rubles for allegedly discrediting the Russian armed forces in a column she had written. According to Yanovskaya and her lawyer, the column was a personal opinion and “cannot discredit anything.” On April 8, she was fined another 30 000 rubles for posting the same text on her social media. Yanovskaya publicly challenged the verdict and said she planned to appeal.
