On 21 March 2025, the office of online media outlet Inform.zp.ua in Zaporizhia was damaged in the course of a Russian drone attack on the city, as reported by Ukraine’s Institute of Mass Information (IMI), a local press freedom group, whose representatives spoke with Inform.zp.ua’s editor-in-chief Erik Brynza. The attack occurred at approximately 9 p.m. local time. No one was injured. As a result of the shelling, the ceiling in one of the rooms of the office partially collapsed.
“Thank God, this is only one room. We had an archive of accounting documents there, and we also used the space as a dining room. My office is located behind the wall from this room. [Our] work offices with laptops, cameras [as well as] our studio are all sound”, Brynza told IMI.
According to the Inform.zp.ua editor-in-chief, the damage occurred after one Shahed-type drone exploded approximately 300 meters from the outlet’s office. Local Ukrainian authorities later reported that at least 24 multi-storey buildings and 20 private houses were damaged as a result of Russian attacks on Zaporizhia on March 21.
