On 14 October 2025, a film crew from Dnipro-based broadcaster Channel 11 came under fire by Russian KAB-type guided bombs while reporting from the settlement of Pokrovske. The incident was reported by Yevhen Koptev, a journalist who traveled with the film crew, and who spoke to a regional representative of Ukraine’s Institute of Mass Information, a press freedom group. The crew had travelled with volunteers to document the evacuation of civilians from a high-risk area. No one from the team was injured. It was not clear how many media workers were present on site, aside from Koptev.

According to the correspondent, the team was using a smaller vehicle than usual, as their regular vehicle was being repaired at the time. To fit in the car, the team needed to remove some protective gear, such as helmets. He described how the first bomb landed about 200 meters from their position, followed by two more explosions, prompting a rapid evacuation.
