On 29 January 2025, a court in the city of Yakutsk fined Alexander Sivtsev, the editor-in-chief of local online outlet Sakhamedia, 20 thousand rubles, on charges of reposting an article from leading Russian online outlet Meduza.
The article in question was published in April 2022, and was related to the occupation of Bucha in the suburbs of Kyiv by Russian forces. Sivtsev was found guilty on grounds of sharing publications authored by an “undesirable organization”.
