On 29 January 2025, a court in the city of Yakutsk fined Alexander Sivtsev, the editor-in-chief of local state-owned online outlet Sakhamedia, 20 thousand rubles, on charges of reposting an article from leading Russian online outlet Meduza.

The article in question was published in April 2022, and was related to the occupation of Bucha in the suburbs of Kyiv by Russian forces. Sivtsev was found guilty on grounds of sharing publications authored by an “undesirable organization”. Meduza was legally designated as such in Russia in January 2023.

UPDATE: On 10 March 2025, a court in Yakutsk also issued a warning to Sakhamedia for the same article on Bucha.
