The news websites of independent media were blocked by Russia’s state internet and media regulator Roskomnadzor for what it deemed to be violations of rules on coverage of the country’s invasion of Ukraine. It blocked access to the websites of RFE/RL’s Current Time Russian language TV channel, its Krim.Realii Crimea-focussed service, and the New Times news website. Interfax Ukraine’s Russian-language service was also blocked.
