France24 journalist detained in Ivanovo region while filming interview with anti-war activist

France24 journalist Karina Chabour was detained in Shuya, Ivanovo, alongside her translator while interviewing a local anti-war activist, Sergey Veselov. All three were transported to the local police headquarters, where Chabour was held for five hours. Officials denied access to Chabour’s laywer for several hours and separated the journalist from her translator. Chabour was interrogated by the local police chief and his deputy. The following day, in the Telegram channel “Operativnye Svodky”, CCTV footage from a local administrative building was published showing Chabour filming her interview in front of building. Photos containing her passport information and press card were published in the same channel.
