On 8 November 2024, the website of Detector Media, a Ukrainian press freedom and monitoring group, was temporarily unaccessible as a result of a DDoS attack, the group later reported. Detector Media’s website was unaccessible between 10:30 p.m. and midnight on November 8, however specialists were later able to restore access. While Detector Media initially reported that it did not know who could have been responsible for the attack, representatives of the group said that Russian sources were likely responsible, as a side project of Detector Media dedicated to debunking Russian disinformation was targeted in a DDoS attack at the same time. It was later also reported that Narodnaya CyberArmiya, a group of pro-Russian hackers represented by a Telegram channel with the same name, had taken responsibility for the incident.
