Danish journalist Stefan Weichert and photographer Emil Filtenborg Mikkelsen were shot and injured while reporting from eastern Ukraine. They were working for Danish tabloid Ekstra-Bladet at the time and had been in a car near the town of Ohtyrka, about 90 kilometres northwest of Kharkiv, when the attack took place. Weichert suffered was shot in the shoulder and Ekstra-Bladet also suffered gunshot wounds. Both were later evacuated from Ukraine in a stable condition.
