On 19 September 2025, a car carrying a Channel 5 film crew struck a limpet mine while driving near Pokrovsk. All occupants survived but sustained concussions, and the vehicle was destroyed.

In statements attributed to the crew, war correspondent Olha Kalynovska described how the mine detonated from underneath the car as it drove over it. The group then had to escape the area, moving on foot and taking cover to avoid detection by Russian drones. Kalynovska said all four crew members only sustained concussion injuries, with the driver being the most affected.

Channel 5 itself confirmed the incident in its reporting, stating that “a particular threat is the mining of roads” and that the crew encountered a mine “which detonated under the car.” The outlet emphasized that the team survived, though the vehicle was lost.
