On February 13, after protests broke out due to the delay of the February 25 elections, Senegalese authorities limited mobile internet access nationwide. This marks the second instance of authorities interrupting internet service to suppress public demonstrations. In June 2023, there was a similar shutdown of mobile internet and restrictions were imposed on various social media platforms in a suspected attempt to curb public protests.
