On September 1, 2023, access to Inquisiteur.net, based in Conakry, the capital city of Guinea, was restricted. The news website’s management considered the restriction as an attack from the government. The incident followed a publication by the media house that challenged the government’s assessment of the economic growth under the military-led government. In addition to the restriction, authorities sought to verbally threaten and intimidate the journalists over the critical report.
