Suhaib al-Heeti, a reporter for independent Asia Satellite Channel, was killed in a suicide bombing on May 30, 2017 in the city of Heet, in Iraq’s Anbar province. The bombing targeted a candelelight vigil for victim’s of a truck bombing the previous night in Baghdad. Al-Heeti was covering the vigil at the time of the explosion, which reportedly killed more than a dozen others.
