Shifa Gardi, a TV reporter and anchor for the Iraqi Kurdish channel Rudaw, was killed in a roadside blast near Mosul. According to Rudaw, Gardi was following a lead on an alleged mass grave where the Islamic State group is thought to have killed and buried hundreds of civilians when a bomb exploded, killing her and five paramilitary fighters. Her cameraman, Younis Mustafa, and seven others were also injured in the attack.
