IPI is partnering with the This Human World film festival for the third consecutive year. This year, to mark the festival’s 10th anniversary, IPI will be co-hosting the Austrian premiere of renowned director Laura Poitras’ film RISK, which offers a close look at Wikileaks’ Julian Assange, on Dec. 6 at 20:15 at Vienna’s Filmcasino.

Following the film, IPI will moderate a post-screening Q&A with Florian Skrabal, editor-in-chief of the Austrian investigative platform Dossier.at, on the role that whistleblowing plays in supporting the work of the media.

From the This Human World programme:

“Over the span of six years, Laura Poitras – who recieved the 2015 Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature for her depiction of Edward Snowden the NSA spying scandal in ‘Citizenfour’ – has created a fascinating and controversial portrait of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. Poitras’ subjective camera reveals a domineering and narcissistic, yet also vulnerable man who is deeply convinced of the righteousness of his actions.”
