Effective counter-terrorism strategies require the participation of a broad range of actors, including civil society. At the core of such strategies is the notion that prevention of radicalisation is one of the key priorities and that effective groups and individuals need to be supported and empowered with a view to building resilience within relevant communities. The panel will examine the current challenges in empowering alternative voices across Europe and will offer first-hand experience in working on the ground, both at grassroots level and with policy makers.

Watch the discussion from the panel session “Preventing radicalisation, empowering alternative voices” held on May 20, 2017 at the IPI World Congress in Hamburg. The session was organised in partnership with the European Foundation for Democracy.
