Excellent journalistic investigation is often carried out by smaller media organisations or individuals who do not have sufficient reach to generate change. How can their independent investigations enter the mainstream media and remain there? What is the role of advocates and campaigners, mainstream and public service media? How can we make investigative journalism more effective in fighting corruption and in leading to the prosecution of perpetrators?
