Hernán Choquepata Ordoñez, journalist for radio station La Ribereña, was beaten up by two men who entered his booth while his radio program, “Habla el pueblo”, was broadcasting in Camaná in the department of Arequipa on Nov. 20, 2016. Choquepata was found with serious injuries in his head and was delivered to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The motive for the assault remains unclear, although Choquepata reportedly had received prior death threats.
