Agustín Igancio Mina, 19, was killed on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014 in northwestern Argentina while on assignment covering the Rally Dakar Sudamérica auto race. The editor of the magazine Super Rally said that Mina, a photographer, died after the vehicle in which he was travelling careened off a curve on a dangerous section of road. A technician working with Mina, Daniel Eduardo Diambrosio, was also killed. Two other passengers survived, Peruvian photographer Rodrigo de Quesada and an Argentine counterpart, Martín Delgado. For its part, Rally organisers stated that the journalists were not accredited to cover the full race.
