According to reports, Turad Mohamed al-Zahouri died on Feb. 20 succumbing to the injuries he had sustained five days earlier when a shell landed near him in the Syrian district of Yabroud. Al-Zahouri was documenting the fighting between the opposition and government forces near the Lebanese border. Al-Zahouri was the director and photographer for Al-Qusayr Lens, a Facebook page that covers events in Al-Qusayr and the surrounding areas. Several of al-Zahouri photographs and videos from the Facebook page were published by The Associated Press, local Syrian news channels, and the Al-Qusayr Media Center.
