Syrian freelance journalist Majid Dirani was killed while covering fighting in the Daraya suburb of Damascus Feb. 19, 2016. The Anadolu Agency, which said that Dirani was on assignment for it at the time of his death, reported that he was taking pictures of shelling and planes flying overhead when he was hit by shrapnel from rounds fired by a tank operated by pro-government forces.
